Assistant Brewer  &
Cellar Person

We are searching for a full-time assistant brewer/cellarperson to assist in lager production in the brewery. Applicants should have a strong passion for beer, a desire to learn, and a strong aptitude for problem solving and thinking mechanically. Previous brewery production experience is required.

Salary:  $23.00/hr

Tip Income:  No 

Discounts:  Food, beer, and merchandise. Shift meal and beer.

Schedule:  Full-time (40 hours following a 4 days/week, 10 hrs a day 7a-5p)

Start Date:  Immediately

Duties

Specific duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide assistance to the head brewer in various beer production and cleaning based tasks.

  • CIP: FV, BBT, HZL, draftline, heat-x, BH

  • Keg washing

  • Cellarwork: xfer, filtration, gravity readings, finings, racking, canning

  • Grain handling; weighing, milling

  • Wort production; brewing, cleaning, documentation

  • Yeast management

  • Inventory and distributor orders; picking, load, unload

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of safe and appropriate operation of pumps and other brewery equipment;

  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing:

  • ability to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours and in extreme environmental conditions;

  • ability to lift and carry weights in excess of 50 pounds;

  • ability to work cooperatively as a team member; and take direction from production staff, and work independently and efficiently;

  • ability to handle chemicals in a safe manner.

  • Previous working experience in a brewery OR brewing certificate from a qualified brewing education program is required

Working Conditions

​Work is performed in the brewery with exposure to water, steam, co2, chemicals, and compressed air. Worker must have overall stamina to perform moderate to strenuous physical activity, including ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, working in wet areas, or work in tight or confined spaces. Must be able to work from a ladder and at heights of up to 10 feet. Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds and carry and lift that load off/on of stacked pallets.
